Opening times: Every Friday from 17:00 - 20:00; Saturday and Sunday from 13:00 - 18:00 during the weeks of Advent. Heiðmörk is a beautiful, small forest that is part of Reykjavik but takes about 15-20 minutes of driving to get there. I love coming here for a couple of reasons.

Reykjavík Christmas Markets 2022 The Christmas Markets will return to downtown Reykjavík after a two-year hiatus due to Covid. Handmade crafts, lopapeysas, baked goods and much much more will be for sale in small pop-up booths set up on different streets and squares.

There are a few Christmas markets in Reykjavik. The main one, at Ingólfstorg Square in downtown Reykjavik, is transformed into Yule Town each December. Yule Town offers a wide selection of local, hand-crafted gifts, decorations, artisanal food, and an ice-skating rink in the middle of the square. Yule Town is usually open December 2-23.

The Heiðmörk Christmas Market The annual Crafts & Design Christmas Market and the Christmas tree sale in Heiðmörk Woods, located on the outskirts of Reykjavík, is open on weekends about a month before Christmas. There is plenty to see at this market that mainly sells hand-crafted items.
